Inaugural Shoot Westfield
Hello All,
West field have mentioned they wish to run an HFT shoot in the 24th August at their ground at Milngavie and wish it to be placed within our calender. They do unfortunately at this time require to borrow targets, so may I request that any club/clubs would be forthcoming as to this and donate the use of their targets for thus venue. Hopefully this will be the beginning of another shoot venue although mention was made that FT may produce some problem due to lack of range at this time.
Regards,
Stewart (Sec)
Cardross 2008
Many thanks to all those who gave up their weekend break to help support SARPA at our annual Cardross Game Fair fund raiser. Volunteers from the clubs not only gave up their time but travelled very long distances at their own expense to be at the function and in these days of high fuel costs this can be serious money. A very special thank you to Laura who manned (or is "womened" nowadays!!) our reception desk, took in all the money and kept us all on toes! Despite very good weather over the weekend this year takings were slightly down on 2007. One of the main reasons was other events in the area on Saturday clashing with Cardross. We can only confirm that the impact on SARPA was less than on other exhibitors. More important, SARPA gained very many new friends who visited our tent plus four new members who joined over the weekend, with six other people indicating they will join this month. The Management Committee will be meeting at the end of June with one item already favourite to be approved. In 2007 Tayside kindly allowed us to borrow their exhibition targets but because of their design they are difficult to transport. Stewart Orr has prepared a new design which he will develop and get costing from local fabricators. If the Committee approves the expense we will have new targets for 2009 that can be reset from the firing line. This year Arthur, Fred and two other members spent all day shooting at the resetting discs which solved the problem but requires that they are now re-graded AAA shooters for the rest of the season - hosting clubs take note!! The new PCP rifles proved to be a great improvement on the old springers. A first they required quite a bit of attention which could have been the mounts or just the newness of the guns. By Sunday they had settled down and were shooting well. For security and for convenience the rifles will be split up and stored by each club. However, should any club have a local fund raising event or a need - all the guns are available on free loan. After 2009 this will apply to the new design targets as well. Like all popular events we are constantly seeking ways to improve our image, our service and our popularity with the public so if anybody has any ideas, suggestions or even criticisms please contact either your club officials or Stewart directly. SARPA would finally like to thank the host organisers BASC and all the visitors to our tent - SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!. PS David Wardle will be posting his pix soon please go to the link on the Photo Album page to access.

FT Championships
To all members,
Would those wishing to attend the FT Championships 22/24 August 2008 in Armagh Northern Ireland be aware the Ulster rally and road competition is on at the same time in Armagh and accommodation locally will be scarce so please book early. If you require it I can supply a copy of the licence application form which has to be returned by 1st June. If you return the completed forms to me I can post in one lot rather than each individual application being processed. This may be simpler and quicker for participating members. Please contact me on 01698 309738 if you require anymore assistance.
